Has the overload of sweetness this festive season made it difficult for you to fit in your favorite pair of jeans? Are you left wondering what changed in just a matter of weeks? Well, it’s most likely that a muffin top is in between you and your jeans. Let’s take a look at some yoga exercises that can solve this problem for you.
Muffin top or love handles is just a slang term for the side bulges on our waist due to the accumulation of fat in that area. For most people this is the first area that gets the extra fat as soon as they get a little sidelined from their diet or fitness routine.
Apart from the outer appearance or not being able to fit in your clothes, it is not good for your holistic wellness too. So, here are 5 yoga exercises suggested by Anushka Parwani, a celebrity yoga and holistic wellness expert on her Instagram handle, to help you reduce the muffin top and love handles.
Stand on a yoga mat with your feet and legs joined together and make sure you are standing straight with your back and neck in a straight line. Raise your right arm straight above your head and bend on the left hand side and come back up. Repeat this process for 15 Reps on each side.

For the mountain pose, again you need to stand absolutely straight and this time raise both your arms straight above your head. Join your hands together and then stretch and bend to the right side, then come back up. Do this 15 times on each side.
To perform this exercise, you need to stand with your feet shoulder width apart and your hands on the back of your head. Once in this position, lift up your left leg so that it is bent at a right angle and then bend forward so that your right elbow touches the left knee. Repeat this with the left elbow too. Do 15 reps on each side.
First you need to come in the same position as above with your hands behind your head. Then instead of touching the opposite knee with your elbow you will bend in the same direction. So, you will lift your right leg in the sideward direction in a way that your feet point outwards and then you will bend and touch the right knee with the right elbow. Do 15 reps on both sides.
For Triangle pose, also known as Trikonasana, you need to stand straight with your legs wide open. Stretch your legs as much as you can while maintaining your balance. Stretch your arms so that they are parallel to the floor and then bend in the right direction while looking up at your left arm. Repeat 15 times on both sides.
Try these at home and fit into your favorite dress this festive season without worrying about side bulges.
