If you’re someone who is constantly looking at ways to improve their physical performance or loves trying something new, a plyometrics workout is a good idea. It includes exerting the muscles to their maximum in short bursts, in order to boost their strength and power. This form of exercise works on your speed, strength and at the same time, enhances your agility.

Recently, celebrity fitness trainer Yasmin Karachiwala shared plyometric workouts on her Instagram page, and we just can’t wait for more such exercises!

In her recent post, Yasmin has demonstrated a few of those exercises. Here’s what she wrote in the caption, “Plyometrics, also known as jump training or plyos, are exercises in which muscles exert maximum force in short intervals of time, intending to increase power.”

The primary focus of plyometric training, however, is to expand and contract muscles as quickly as possible, she added. The main benefits of doing this include greater flexibility, and the ability to move the muscles more rapidly.

Yasmin wrote, “For today, the plyometric exercise is ‘mountain climber‘. You need to repeat it after every strength workout. She told everyone to follow the format below and repeat all the exercises for three rounds.” She also shared with her followers a list of some exercises, along with the number of repetitions.

This is what it looks like:
  • Db swing + sidestep (15 Reps)
  • Mountain climber (20 Reps)
  • Db hammer press + Skullcrusher bridge (15 Reps)
  • Mountain climber (20 Reps)
  • Db upper cut x 4, punch x 4 with squat (10 Reps)
