Sophie regularly uploads videos showing off her fitness moves as a part of her fitness series on Instagram titled ShopieFit. This time around, she made her legs and glutes workout a part of the series. The former VJ and singer announced that it’s her way of kicking off her birthday month. What an inspiring lady!
The caption on Instagram said:
“Kicking off birthday month with some legs & glutes.”
These are the 4 pilates moves Sophie wants you all to try out:
1. Squat to adduction
This move is basically a pilates version of the sumo squat. What makes it more impactful is the movement. Pilates works on the principle of adding more movement to an exercise which helps in increasing the contraction of muscles.
This move won’t just strengthen your glutes and core but also enhance flexibility. If you don’t have any equipment at home, you can simply perform this with the help of a wall. Just make sure that you engage the core and focus on your breathing to get the maximum impact on your glutes along with your core.
This one is a mix of cardio and muscle-strengthening. If your legs lack muscle endurance, this move will help you quite a bit. Plus, it will have an impact on your whole body.
4. Lunge to point walking
So, here’s how it goes – lunge, point walk, and lunge again. This move will activate your lower body muscles. Controlling your breathing is important for this one. You can see Sophie also doing that in each one of these exercises!
Here’s how pilates will impact your body:
Pilates is known to tone up the body and that’s why so many Bollywood beauties swear by it. It helps you with:
1. Improving your posture.
2. Building a stronger core which is the energy source for all your workout routines.
3. Reducing muscle pain by relaxing them.
