Ladies, it’s the first week of 2022. While we may still be reeling under the after-effects of the long New Year weekend, actress Malaika Arora served up some much-needed Monday motivation! For ardent social media followers of the fitness queen, ‘Malaika’s Move of The Week’ is not a new find. But she gave it a fresh touch by doing a yoga asana with a twist.

Malaika aimed at core strengthening by performing the Parivrtta Trikonasana or Revolved Triangle Pose like a pro. But not one to consider yoga as boring, Malaika added a ‘danda’ or a stick to the routine. She captioned it, “You all know that core strengthening poses are my favourite, like Trikonasana and its variations are one of my favorite poses and one thing I like is adding some fun to my daily routine with these poses.”

The diva has been giving her fans major fitness goals by performing strenuous yoga asanas and extreme workouts.

This time, the Parivrtta Trikonasana that Malaika has performed, is beneficial not only for your physical health but also for your wandering mind. As it is a difficult posture to perform in the first place, it gives your mind the power to concentrate more and stabilize your wandering thoughts.

Malaika explains how to ace yoga asana Parivrtta Trikonasana with a stick:

  1. Begin at the center of the mat. Stand with spine straight.
  2. Place the stick on the shoulders and roll your arms around the stick. Making a T shape with the body.
  3. Separate your legs 3-4 inches apart. The right foot should be facing towards the right side and the left toes should be tilted at an angle of 45 degrees.
  4. Keep the torso in front, chest open, and roll your shoulders back. With an inhalation, start twisting your torso towards the right side.
  5. As you exhale, bend down taking the left corner of the stick at the right side.
  6. Drop the edge of the stick at the outside edge of your right foot.
  7. Gaze towards the right palm.
  8. Hold this pose for 10 seconds.
  9. Repeat the steps on the other side as well.

Malaika shares a tip for the yoga asana;

Do not perform this pose if you have a neck or back injury. As this pose is all about the alignment of the body, especially the spine and arms, perform this under supervision and with utmost care.
