It’s Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt’s birthday, and while we are in complete awe of her acting chops, we can’t help but marvel at her dedication to fitness too! Her svelte physique may be the talk of the town, but the actress consistently works out and makes sure to have a good mix of everything from cardio to strength training, and yoga.
We’ve often seen actresses like Shilpa Shetty and Malaika Arora being passionate about yoga, and Alia is also a part of the tribe. She is often seen performing complex yoga poses like kapotasana or pigeon pose which is essentially a backbend pose. Wearing a lavender tank top and black tights, she performed the asana, which stretches the torso, ankles, and thighs. Here’s what her caption reads, “Progress over perfection #happymonday.”
Once again, this Instagram reel shared by Alia shows how flexible she is! She does a full yoga routine with such effortlessness that we are in complete awe of her. Of course, her cat Edward adds to the cuteness level, as she goes about the asanas. The post left fans super impressed and motivated them to get up and start moving. We know for a fact that Alia is a regular at yoga, under the guidance of celeb trainer Anshuka Parwani.
Pilates seems to be another hot favourite of B-town celebs and Alia is also someone who swears by this workout. She’s someone who is superbly committed to her fitness and doesn’t miss her exercise sessions, even if she’s been up until the wee hours of the night.
Here’s what she wrote in one of her posts, “Shooting nights can be very tiring for the body because of the way it messes with your natural body clock. I woke up today feeling so exhausted. But, after monkeying around and doing some intense Pilates, my energy level just shot up.”
Sohrab Khushrushahi, Alia’s trainer, shared an intense leg routine that the actress performs regularly. The caption read, ” Do or do not. There is no try.’ Always work those legs. I don’t think you’re going to be very happy with me tomorrow morning, Alia Bhatt.”
In the video, Alia can be performing five exercises — four sets of six to eight reps of Hanging Band Technique (HBT) back squats, four sets of six to eight reps of Jefferson curls, four sets of six to eight reps of elevated sumo squats + sumo deadlifts, four sets of 10-15 reps of wall sit calf raises, and four sets of six to eight reps of elevated front foot banded split squats (each leg).
The pandemic-induced lockdowns made us realise the importance of fitness, and how workouts should not be missed at all! To get her daily dose of endorphins, Alia went for virtual workout sessions with her trainer.
Here’s what she wrote in the caption,”Relying on those endorphins and my virtual workout partners to keep the spirit up.”
