Here’s how you can do this pose:
  1. Lie down on your belly with your arms stretched out in front of you.
  2. Take a deep breath. Slowly lift up your head, chest, feet and thighs, all at the same time. Keep your focus on the stretching and breathing.
  3. Hold this position for 4 to 5 seconds.
  4. Try to engage your core and pelvic muscle as much as you can. You’ll be able to feel the abdominal and gluteal muscles burning!
  5. You can repeat this 3 to 4 times when you begin.

Kriti Sanon has introduced us to a rather powerful yoga asana! Here are 5 benefits of the superman pose:

1. Stretches and strengthens the muscles

Starting from your chest, shoulders, and arms to the legs, abdomen and lower back, this pose stretches the muscles. It can be termed as a full-body workout because it targets all the major muscles in your body.

2. Tones your abdomen

This pose engages your core and the burn you feel in your abdomen helps in toning it. Along with the abdomen, it also helps in toning your lower back. So, it is a really good workout if you are aiming for abs!

BMI

Keep an idea of your risk of weight-related issues.

Also, watch:

3. Keeps your back flexible

If you have backache issues, this pose is a must-try for you. Not only does it help with backache, but it also promotes a flexible back by massaging your spine.

4. Improves blood circulation

With improved blood circulation in your body, you feel energised. So, it might be a good warmup before you start your workout routine.

5. Helps concentrate

Focusing on balancing your body requires mental work along with the physical strength. It helps you train your mind to avoid any interrupting thoughts and enhances concentration.

The superman pose can truly make you feel great and stay healthy. However, abstain from practising it if you’re pregnant!
