Dr Vineet Talwar is presently working as the Director, Dept of Medical Oncology, at the Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Centre (RGCIRC) in New Delhi. He has been serving in the Department of Medical Oncology since May 2000. He completed his DM (Medical Oncology) from the prestigious Adyar Cancer Institute, Chennai, in March 2000. He has over 140 publications to his credit in various national and international, peer-reviewed journals. He is a member of the European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO), the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), the Indian Cooperative Oncology Network (ICON), and the Indian Society of Oncology (ISO).
He has been awarded three orations from The Association of Physicians of India, the Indian Academy of Clinical Medicine and Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. He was awarded the prestigious ‘Chikitsa Ratan Award’ by the Delhi State Medical Association for his contributions to cancer care. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, Edinburgh, UK (FRCP) and also credited as a Fellow of the International Medical Sciences Academy (FIMSA).
