‘Tis the wedding season, ladies. And it’s time to don your fancy ethnic wear and flaunt your sexy back in backless blouses, gowns, and dresses.

But where’s the fun in it if you have to worry about your back looking patchy, dry, and pimpled? After all, a flawless-looking back can make those blouses look even more stunning, right?

So, why not prep for it already? Here are five DIY skincare tips to get a beautiful back this wedding season to the rescue:

1. Use steam for a clear back
No, you don’t have to go running to a spa with a steam sauna. Taking a hot shower can seal the deal. The hot water will open the pores on your back and wash away the dirt that clogs them.

2. Don’t forget, your back needs scrubbing too
There’s no doubt about the fact that our back is the most neglected part of the body when it comes to skincare. Not anymore, though. Go, grab a back brush or a loofah to reach the difficult areas of the back, and exfoliate it using a scrub to remove the leftover dirt clogging the pores for some added smoothness post the hot shower.

3. Tackle the tan
If you’ve got a tanned back, applying lemon juice using a back brush can help. Leave it on for a few minutes and rinse it off with lukewarm water. Lemon juice naturally possesses bleaching properties due to its acidic nature. But you’ll need to be regular with this regime to see visible results. Do this twice a week to witness the magic.

4. Make your own body-polish at home
Mix some baking soda powder and salt, and add some water to the mixture to form a paste and then apply it all over your back with the help of a back brush. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes and rinse it off with lukewarm water. Doing so, will give your back that glow.

5. Moisturising, FTW
No skincare routine is ever complete without moisturisation. This holds true for the skin on your sexy back too. Hence, once you’re done exfoliating it, use a generous amount of a water-based moisturiser if you have an acne-prone back or olive oil if you’ve got a dry skin for a silky-smooth finish. Trust us, on a moisturised back, even your foundation will simply glide and make you look absolutely flawless at that party.
