1. Aloe vera

Among the many plant-based ingredients that are used today for skincare products, aloe vera is by far the most versatile remedy for summers. Applying it fresh to your skin helps to soothe and heal sunburns. Aloe vera is a powerful source of antibacterial and antiseptic properties that help in easing rashes caused due to prickly heat. In fact, it naturally moisturizes your skin and prevents moisture loss. 

Apply aloe vera gel all over the face, let it stay for 15 minutes and rinse well with water. Repeat it thrice daily to get instant relief from prickly heat.

2. Multani mitti

Multani mitti works as an excellent home remedy to clear clogged pores, treat prickly heat and makes the skin supple and fresh. It has been used since time immemorial for skincare. That’s because it removes excess sebum, reduces the risk of breakouts, cleanses the skin of dirt and soothes irritated skin. 

Make a paste of multani mitti with rose water and apply it all over on your face. Let this stay for 15 minutes and rinse well with cool water. Apply the paste daily for best results.

3. Besan flour

Besan is basic and we all have it at home. So why not use it to get gorgeous skin, free from all summer problems? It has been traditionally used in skincare to deep cleanse and exfoliate the dead skin. This humble kitchen ingredient provides instant relief from itching and the prickly sensation. Plus, besan can also help to remove a tan and brighten the skin, giving you an even tone.

Mix a cup of besan with one tablespoon of honey and curd into paste. Mix well and apply it on your face and neck, washing it off after 20 minutes. 

4. Neem leaves

Whatever your skin type might be, neem leaves can be your bae. It improves the skin’s ability to retain moisture and also softens dead skin cells and removes them, making skin smoother and brighter. It is a great ingredient to soothe irritated summer skin. That’s because it contains antioxidants that are beneficial to reduce melanin production of your skin. What’s more, it also reduces dark spots, blemishes and any kind of redness on your skin. 

To make neem face mask, mix two teaspoons of neem powder with little water to form a paste that is not too runny. Add a pinch of turmeric powder and apply it on your face for 20 minutes and rinse it off. 

5. Green tea

What can green tea not do? It has antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce skin irritation, skin redness and swelling. Applying green tea to your skin can soothe minor cuts and sunburn too. In fact, green tea can also help reverse signs of aging like sun spots, fine lines, and wrinkles.

Take one tablespoon of green tea and add some water to form a paste. Apply it on the skin and gently massage for two to three minutes. Then, rinse it with lukewarm water.
