Monsoon can have various effects on our skin but the most dreaded one is the development of acne. Humidity levels rise and our sebum production goes into overdrive. This leads to not just greasiness but also dirt being attracted to the stickiness of the skin surface. The result? Clogged pores which can raise your risk of breaking out. No wonder so many people report that their acne problem flares up during the monsoon season.

Tea tree serum for acne

All that we can do is give our skin that extra attention it needs to steer clear of acne. For this, you need to add tea tree oil to your monsoon skincare routine! It has been used since time immemorial for its anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Here’s how you can prepare the tea tree serum right at home

Things you’ll need:
-Tea tree oil, 10 drops
-Rosemary oil, 5 drops
-Glycerin, 5 drops
-Aloe vera, 2 teaspoons

Here’s how you can prepare this tea tree oil face serum to prevent acne during the monsoon

Step 1: Take an aloe vera leaf and clean its surface properly using water. This will ensure that any dirt or particles don’t get transferred to the gel being extracted. Next, slice the leaf from the middle and scrape out the gel using a wooden spoon. Add this gel to a bowl.

Step 2: Add tea tree oil and rosemary oil to the bowl. These essential oils work best when used in moderation. If used in excess or without dilution, they can cause damage to the skin in the form of burns, redness and irritability. Hence, do not add more than a couple of drops of these essential oils to the serum.

Step 3: Add glycerine to this mixture in the bowl. Mix all the ingredients together. Your tea tree oil face serum is ready! Store it in a small bottle. Place it in the refrigerator so that it doesn’t get spoiled and can be used for a longer period of time.
