Pineapples provide a variety of benefits for the skin. According to Dr Ajay Rana, renowned dermatologist and aesthetic physician, pineapple is good for the hair, skin, and bones. If someone is prone to acne, skin rashes, or skin damage, pineapple can really rejuvenate the skin and make it look clean and fresh.
Pineapple juice contains loads of vitamin C and antioxidants that can treat acne, sun damage, and uneven skin toning. It will also keep the skin hydrated and make the skin clear.
On the other hand, pineapple is rich in nutrients and antioxidants that can fight inflammation. It is one of the healthy fruits that has loads of health benefits that can aid in good digestion and boost immunity.
“With age, our skin begins to lose its glow and starts to develop wrinkles. However, pineapples can make the skin look younger and delay cells from dying. It will make the skin smooth and add that extra layer of youth. The fruit also contains alpha-hydroxy acid, which is the main substance that delays the death of cells, thus aiding in anti-ageing capabilities. Pineapple can also reduce black spots on the face – just rub some slices of pineapple over black spots,” shares Dr Rana with HealthShots.
Dr Rana also suggests various ways to use pineapple for your skin:
Extract the juice of a pineapple, take it on a cotton ball and apply it to the face. Rinse it off in five minutes, but keep in mind that you must not leave it on for too long, since the acids in the pineapple can burn the skin.
The coarse nature of the pineapple works as a natural scrub to get rid of dead skin cells. For this, cut a slice of pineapple and divide it into four parts. Then rub it all over the body. Once you are done with rubbing, rinse it off. It exfoliates your skin and makes it super soft. Apply pineapple juice on the skin for a few minutes and leave it. The enzyme bromelain in the pineapple is an anti-inflammatory agent that can treat your acne-prone skin.
Pineapples are a natural hydrating agent that replenish the skin from the inside. You can also use it to make face masks. For this, take three tablespoons of pineapple juice, and mix it with one egg yolk and two tablespoons of milk to make an excellent natural hydrating mask.
So ladies, give your skin the treatment it deserves!
