They also have the ability to penetrate the outer layers of the skin and access deeper layers, where they can easily damage and kill skin cells. “Using a sunscreen cream with ingredients like red raspberry can help you shield your skin from UV rays, and prevent several skin problems such as but not limited to inflammation, and acne,” says Reddy.
A moisturizer can go a long way to protect your skin during the summer. Nourishing and healing damaged skin are only the beginning. Try to get your hands on a moisturiser with hemp seed oil. It helps to lock in the skin’s natural moisture, and prevent excess oil production — two essential qualities for harsh summers.
Consuming the right foods is a must during summer. Include plenty of fruits and vegetables in your diet. “They contain essential vitamins, nutrients, and antioxidants that boost collagen production, reduce inflammation, and protect your skin from the damaging effects of the sun,” adds Reddy.
UVA and UVB rays can damage the outside cover of the hair strand, known as the cuticle, causing dullness and breakage. A simple way to prevent this is by using a hair cream, preferably with nourishing ingredients like argan oil and peppermint. These ingredients protect your hair from UV damage, moisturize the scalp, and promote hair strength.
Most store-bought liquid shampoos contain numerous chemicals, upgrading to a shampoo bar can prevent a lot of hair damage. Using a shampoo with activated charcoal can help rid your scalp of impurities and strengthen the follicles, shielding your mane from the harsh summer sun.
