Hormonal imbalance, oily skin, or pollution – whatever the reason is acne breakouts are always tough to deal with. And the chemistry they have with our upcoming plans is just mind-boggling.

But enough is enough – we don’t want acne to screw your plans anymore and hence we have got experts to help. They will be tipping us with some amazing ways to deal with acne breakouts.

So ladies, Dr. Navin Taneja from The National Skin Centre, New Delhi and Lalita Arya, Vice President, Dermapuritys are in the house with three awesome tips for acne breakout.

1. Keep your face clean and let the skin breathe
Keeping your face clean is a must – so do it at least three to four times a day with your regular face wash and a pH balanced cleanser, if you have mild acne.

Frequent washing will remove the excessive build-up of dirt, oil, bacteria, and other pollutants from the surface of your skin. Not washing for a long time means your pores will become clogged and it will result in more acne.

Also, watch:

Maintaining and taking regular care of your skin will reduce the number of breakouts and will give you clear and glowing skin. It is very important to consult a dermatologist for severe cystic acne to understand, treat, and prevent acne scars.

Another tip for you is to use a correct everyday skincare regime including cleansing, toning, and moisturising – of course, as per your skin type.

2. Avoid applying thick layers of cream and makeup
Too much makeup and a comedogenic thick cream can block the oil gland pores giving rise to more blackheads, whiteheads, and eventually more acne formation.

Avoid wearing facial makeup, liquid foundation, thick concealer, greasy sunscreen as they will make your acne worse. It is recommended to find yourself a non-comedogenic oil-free moisturizer. Use a sunblock which should not clog the pores or even increase the chance of getting more acne.

Avoid hair oil and serums over the scalp and shampoo every alternate day to prevent oil-induced acne on the forehead.

3. Do not pop or squeeze pimples
Stop doing that ladies because it can leave scars. Also, it will increase inflammation in the surrounding skin leading to more acne formation.

And FYI, healing will take longer and scarring will be severe. If irritation happens you can possibly wash and apply calamine lotion to soothe the skin.

The best tip for acne breakout is to use medicated creams and correct treatment for inflammation as prescribed by the doctors. Avoid self-medicating as it can worsen the problem and lead to more infection.

So ladies, next time whenever there’s a breakout alert, use these beauty hacks to rescue your skin. And if these don’t work well then visit your dermatologist before things get out of hand.
