If you truly want healthy and glowing skin, you will need to provide it with the care it requires. One of the most ignored areas when it comes to skincare is our feet! Dry skin and cracked heels are common but also painful. In addition, such issues can also take away from the aesthetic of our feet. Hence, taking care of your feet regularly is extremely important.

When it comes to caring for the feet, a pumice stone can go a long way but many people don’t quite know how to use it. A pumice stone can easily remove dead and flaky skin, especially on feet but only if used correctly.

We’re presenting you with a step-by-step guide on how to make use of a pumice stone for smooth and heathy feet:

Step 1: Fill a bowl with hot water and dip your feet in it. Keep your feet immersed in water for at least 10 to 15 minutes. This will make it easier to remove dirt and dead skin. You can also add shampoo and drops of baby oil to the water.

Step 2: Soak the pumice stone in hot water for 5 to 10 minutes before you start using it.

Step 3: Now, rub the calloused areas of your feet with a pumice stone. Massage the area with a pumice stone in a circular motion for 2 to 3 minutes using light pressure. Don’t over-exfoliate otherwise you will hurt your skin and might even end up with rashes.

Step 4: Once you feel your feet are smooth and soft, you’re done! Now, you can pat your feet with a soft towel. Finally, apply some moisturizer or oil.

Step 5: Now, take care of your pumice stone too! Dirt and dead skin can be stuck in the pores of the stone. So, make sure you clean out the pumice stone after using it. Let the stone dry completely before storing it in a dry place.

So, now you know how to use a pumice stone! But, here are a few points you should keep in mind:

  • Pumice stone is not for everyone. If your skin hurts, then stop using it immediately.
  • Do not increase the pressure on your skin while using the stone.
  • You can also put the stone in boiled water for deep cleaning.
  • You should not share your pumice stone with others as it can spread bacteria.
  • Do not use a pumice stone on delicate or injured skin.

A pumice stone can ensure you will have soft feet free of any pain or discomfort!
