Health shots got in touch with Dr. Kiran Sethi, a dermatologist, to understand various DIY face packs for that oh-so-gorgeous bridal glow. Here are some of the face masks she shared.
Mix equal parts of yogurt and honey, and apply it to your face. Let this mask sit for at least 1 hour for best results, before washing it off with water.
Yogurt and honey when combined help one achieve healthy skin. Their exfoliating properties leave your skin with a healthy glow. A unique enzyme in honey is also believed to work wonders in lightening and brightening any discoloured skin. Also, yogurt exfoliates the dead skin surface skin cells to unveil an even-looking complexion.
To make this pack, crush sugar granules and soak them in water. Mix this sugar water with buttermilk and apply it all over your face for 10 minutes, and then wash it off.
Buttermilk helps cleanse the impurities on the surface of your skin or in your pores. It also helps remove dead skin cells and curbs any bacterial growth. The lactic acid present in buttermilk boosts astringent properties that deeply cleanse and nourish the skin whilst leaving a natural glow.
Take ½ teaspoon of aloe vera and mix it with ½ cup of mashed papaya. You can also add ½ teaspoon of sandalwood powder for its cooling properties and instant radiance. Apply it on your face, and leave it for 20 minutes. Wash it off using lukewarm water.
You know you can always blindly turn to papaya as it instantly hydrates, smoothens, and rejuvenates the skin. It clears away any prevalent scarring or pigmentation while exfoliating the dead skin cells, leaving the skin soft and supple. Aloe vera has antioxidant properties that soothe wounds and sunburns and unclogs pores whilst keeping your skin hydrated and fresh.
Grind a cup of oatmeal until it becomes fine powder and mix it with two tablespoons of rice flour. Add a teaspoon of honey and mix it to form a smooth paste. Apply it on your face and let it stay for minutes. Rinse it off with warm water.
