We try so many different serums and creams to make sure our skin stays hydrated, but little do we realise that the secret to healthy skin is nourishing it with natural ingredients via home-made face pack!
Head to your kitchen and you’ll find a bounty of products that’ll give you the skin of your dreams. Not many know how beneficial a chocolate and strawberry face mask can be. Not only are the two ingredients sumptuous, but they can boost your dermal health to a whole new level.
To begin with, strawberries are rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, thereby helping to fight the action of free radicals that cause signs of ageing such as wrinkles and fine lines. What’s more, vitamin C is also revered for its ability to brighten and even out the skin tone.
Strawberries also contain alpha-hydroxy acid (more famously known by the abbreviation AHAs) that work as natural exfoliators to remove dead cells from the skin.
Now, add dark chocolate to strawberries and you’ll realise how effective the combo can be for your face! See, dark chocolate is rich in antioxidants that keep your skin healthy. At the same time, they are packed with fatty acids that moisturise your skin deeply. Plus, dark chocolate has anti-inflammatory properties that can soothe irritated skin.
Here are things you’ll need:
1 strawberry, mashed
2 cubes pure dark chocolate, melted
Step 1: Melt two cubes of dark chocolate in a microwave. Don’t go beyond 10 seconds. You don’t want the chocolate to get burnt, or for it to turn so hot that it harms your skin. In case you don’t have a microwave around, you can use the double boiler method.
Step 2: Add the mashed strawberry to the melted dark chocolate, and mix till both the ingredients have combined together.
You will be positively surprised at how supple and hydrated your skin will feel! Try to make this face mask a regular part of your skincare routine by applying it once a week or twice a month.
Ladies, you don’t always need fancy products to make your skin glow and shine. The answer, as it turns out, is often right at home!
