Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor Ahuja is one of those rare media personalities who are open about their health struggles. From her PCOS diagnosis to her weight management issues, this Bollywood diva hides nothing from her fans. In fact, she successfully has been able to raise awareness regarding multiple health issues through social media.

A huge part of Sonam sharing her health story involves her revealing how a healthy diet can help manage many issues. Recently, she took to Instagram to share a video, as a part of her series titled Vanity Vignette, to speak about what to eat for glowing skin. In the caption, the Aisha actress wrote, “When it comes to skin, I don’t take things for granted. From drinking at least 4 bottles of water a day to munching on delicious bowls of salad — I do it all.”

Sonam proved, once again, that you are what you eat and the actress revealed 3 things you need in your daily diet for naturally glowing skin:

1. Water

The sassy actress takes a sip of water to make a point about how absolutely important water is for your body! She says, “Dehydration is not good for your skin, not good for your body, not good for anything – your mental health or physical health.” Drinking 4 bottles of water each day won’t just make your skin glow but will also positively impact your overall health.

2. Omegas

For those who eat non-veg, Sonam says that ‘fish is the best way to get your omegas.’ For those who are strict vegetarians, Sonam recommends adding more seeds and vegetable oils to the diet to up the intake of omegas. She says, “If you’re a vegetarian then I would suggest you get it from nuts, seeds … walnuts, different chia seeds, lotus seeds or vegetable oils like olive oil, sunflower oil. These are all amazing for your skin.”

3. Fibre

The actress recommends fibre because of its ability to clear your system of any waste or toxins. When your body is clean, it will show on your skin. Sonam recommends, “Lots of vegetables, lots of fruits which are low in sugar and salads because the more fibre you have, the fuller you’ll get and the cleaner your system would be. So chop out that carrot, chop out that broccoli, doodhi (bottle gourd), anything. Just have lots of vegetables.”

This diet is extremely healthy and doable. Everything Sonam recommended for glowing skin can easily be found in our homes. All we have to get clear skin like the Veere di Wedding actress is to add these 3 important things to our daily diet.
