Who doesn’t want healthy skin that looks radiant all the time? People spend tonnes of money on expensive skincare products and treatments to have flawless skin. However, getting radiant skin doesn’t have to burn a hole in your pocket. You can also try Ayurvedic remedies for glowing skin. Ayurveda is a natural and holistic approach that offers a plethora of remedies for achieving glowing skin naturally.

Recently, Dr Dixa Bhavsar Savaliya, an Ayurvedic expert, shared an Instagram reel where she shared the best remedies to get glowing and radiant skin.

Ayurvedic remedies for glowing skin

If you’ve always wanted a glowing skin, you should try these 5 Ayurvedic remedies to promote glowing skin:

1. Kanchan Suvarnaprashan

Kanchan Suvarnaprashan is a traditional Ayurvedic practise involving the ingestion of a mixture containing gold, ghee, and honey. Dr Savaliya says, “Gold can minimise skin redness, lessen acne inflammation, protect against hyperpigmentation, and give your skin a natural glow. Ghee contains vitamins A, D, E, and K and antioxidants, which help in maintaining skin elasticity.”

On the other hand, honey provides natural moisture and prevents premature ageing.  Consume 2-3 drops of this mixture in the morning on an empty stomach to detoxify the body and get beautiful skin.

2. Dadimadi Ghrit

Dadimadi Ghrit is an Ayurvedic formulation prepared by infusing cow ghee with the goodness of pomegranate (dadima). Pomegranate, known for its antioxidant properties, is rich in vitamins C and K, which help combat free radical damage and promote collagen production, thereby improving skin elasticity and texture. “It can also improve digestion. To reap these benefits, consume 1 tablespoon of the mix with warm milk or water in the morning or at bedtime,” advises Dr Savaliya.

3. Amrapali Tea

Amrapali tea is a rejuvenating herbal infusion made from a blend of Ayurvedic herbs and spices, including tulsi (holy basil), neem, turmeric, and amla (Indian gooseberry). These ingredients are known for their detoxifying, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties, which help cleanse toxins in the body, reduce inflammation, and promote bright skin. Dr Savaliya suggests, “Take 3 grams of Amrapali and boil it in 300 ml of water for 7 minutes, then strain and sip on your glowing tea on an empty stomach” to get a glowing skin.

4. Face mask

Dr Savaliya recommends using a face mask made with herbs like hibiscus, lodhra, manjistha, chandan, rose, turmeric, red lentils, and saffron. These ingredients work together to cleanse pores, improve skin tone, and deal with dull and tired-looking skin. This face mask also improves blood circulation and provides a glow to the skin. To use it, take 1 tablespoon of mask and mix it with rose, milk, or plain water. Mix it well, and then apply it to your skin for 30 minutes. Wash it off with lukewarm water.” Apply this mask weekly to promote a youthful glow!
