Once you get up, you start the day by getting ready, doing household chores and working on your other responsibilities. As for your skin, you might just clean it with a face wash and then slap a bit of moisturiser or sunscreen. Washing your face is important to remove oil and impurities that get accumulated at night. You can start by using plain water and then move on to massaging your face with natural ingredients. Facial massage might sound like a long procedure, but it’s not. You just need five minutes to do massage in the morning for glowing skin. Then you can move on to your other skin care products.
HealthShots connected with Dr Smita Naram, an Ayurvedic physician and pharmaceutical herbalist, to know about the natural ingredients you can massage your face with in the morning.
Your skin should be given due care and attention or else, it can suffer from premature ageing, become dull and blemished. In fact, we often hear women complaining about acne, pimples, pigmentation, premature ageing or dry skin.
Take out 4 to 5 minutes from your morning schedule to massage your skin with ingredients that will nourish your skin, make it brighter and provide hydration. Try these natural ingredients for massage:
Papaya is a rich source of vitamin C, Vitamin A, folate, potassium and fiber, and all these nutrients can help to not only support healthy immune system, but also skin. It helps to reduce acne by removing dead skin cells that are often responsible for clogging pores (masks using papaya for glowing skin).
Use sesame oil and washed ghee to massage your face for glowing skin. Washed ghee contains vitamins A, D, E and K, which are all good for the skin. Sesame oil contains vitamin E, which protects the skin cells, says the expert. It is also packed with antioxidants that will soothe the skin, reducing the appearance of scars and rashes.
Coconut oil is loved by women with dry skin, as it can help to reduce dryness by locking in moisture, and also help in removing impurities and soothing skin irritations.
It contains Vitamin E and B-complex vitamins that promote skin repair and also control damage. It can even reduce redness that is sometimes caused by drying.
Shea butter is rich in antioxidant vitamins A, E, and F, which promote circulation and healthy skin cell regeneration (benefits of shea butter).
Add 1 teaspoon of honey and a pinch of turmeric powder to a bowl. Mix it and apply on your face. The anti-inflammatory properties of honey and turmeric will help to reduce inflammation and soothe your skin (ways to use turmeric for skin). As well as nourishing the skin, it can also help with bacterial infections, says the expert.
Before you buy these ingredients, make sure to test them first. If you have an allergy, avoid using them. After all, you don’t want to begin your day with rashes on your face!
