Here are the 3 yoga poses Malaika swears by when it comes to keeping her skin smooth and clear:

1. Sarvangasana (shoulder stand pose)

Detailing the benefits of this asana, Malaik wrote, “Sarvangasana regulates the flow of blood towards your face as you are upside down. This is how the quality and texture of your skin improves while also building strength around shoulders and back.”

Here’s how you can perform this yoga pose:

Step 1: Start by lying down on the yoga mat. Keep your hands by your sides.

Step 2: Fold your legs at the knees while keeping your feet on the ground.

Step 3: Bring your knees closer to your chest, like in a foetal position.

Step 4: Place both your hands on the hips for support.

Step 5: Raise your legs up straight while still keeping the hands on your hips. Stay in this pose till you’re comfortable.

2. Halasana (plough pose)

According to Malaika, “This pose helps to reduce stress, calm the mind and improves your digestive process, all of which has an amazing effect on your skin.”

Here’s how you can perform this yoga pose:

Step 1: Lie down on your back and keep your hands by your sides.

Step 2: Now, lift up your hips and extend your legs upwards using the core strength.

Step 3: Keep extending your legs till they’re placed behind your head. Your toes should touch the ground.

Step 4: Next, interlock the fingers of both your hands. This provides better support. Stay in this pose for about 5 breaths.

3. Trikonasana (triangle pose)

Malaika writes, “Trikonasana is a pose that opens the chest and shoulders. This opening of the chest allows supply of fresh oxygen to the skin. Along with benefiting the skin, it also gives you toned arms, legs and thighs as you practice regularly.”

Here’s how you can perform this yoga asana:

Step 1: Stand with your feet apart. Now, turn your left foot outwards.

Step 2: Breathe in and start taking your left hand to the left foot. As you’re going down, exhale slowly.

Step 3: Keep your torso bent and raise your right arm up with the palm open. Look towards the right hand.

Step 4: Ensure that your left hand is parallel to the floor and that your legs are not bent at the knees. Stay in the pose for 5 to 10 breaths.

No wonder Malaika’s skin is perfect! She works really hard for it by practising yoga regularly. Ladies, keep in mind that the poses suggested by Malaika are fairly tough and require immense balance. So, try to perform them under the guidance of an expert if you’re a beginner!
