Here are some of the quick and natural beauty hacks that can be used on Karwa Chauth:

1. Banana peel mask

Bananas are very nutritious for eating, but they are also rich in skin-friendly nutrients such as vitamin B6, B12, antioxidants, and zinc. This makes it a great skin superfood!

How to make banana peel mask for a quick glow:

Step 1: Take half banana and chop it up into tiny pieces and do
the same with the whole peel.

Step 2: Grind the banana peel with the help of a mixer and add
two pieces of banana and let someone else (who’s not fasting) eat
the rest. Mix it well until it becomes a smooth paste.

Step 3: Add a teaspoon of honey and curd. Stir the concoction
well. You can also add some rosewater to this face mask to turn
it into a paste.

Step 4: Apply the paste to your face and neck region.

Step 5: Let it dry for a few minutes and then wash your face with
lukewarm water.

2. Potato and aloe vera under eye mask

Whether you’ve been spending excess hours in front of your
laptop, doom scrolling on social media, binge-watching series on
OTT platforms or attending pre-Diwali parties already, you would
have made friends with puffy eyes and dark circles. But here’s
some help, courtesy potatoes for Karwa Chauth, or any other day
when you need an instant solution for it.

Potatoes have skin lightning properties, and here’s how you can
use it:

Step 1: On two slices of potatoes apply aloe vera.

Step 2: Place these on each eye for 20 minutes before taking off
the slices and washing your eyes.

On one hand, the potatoes will lighten your dark circles and on
the other hand, aloe vera will soothe puffiness.

3. Coffee and neem oil scrub

Sometimes, home staples can be very handy to give your skin a
fresh and radiant look. This combination of coffee and neem oil
in a scrub can help you deal with acne.

Here’s what you will need:

Step 1: You will need 2 tablespoons grounded/powdered coffee, and
2 tablespoons neem oil.

Step 2: Mix the grounded/powdered coffee with neem oil to get an
even consistency. Let it sit for at least fifteen minutes.

Step 3: Gently massage the face scrub all over your face and neck
and let it sit for five to ten minutes.

Step 4: Rinse your face and neck with warm water.

This one actually works best if you use it regularly at least once or twice a week on dry face. But why not give it a try for your Karwa Chauth.

4. Apple cider vinegar and lemon for cracked heels

Skincare is not all about the face! Embarrassed about those cracked heels? Here’s a little natural solution. Try mixing apple cider vinegar with lemon juice, both of which have anti-inflammatory and acidic properties that can exfoliate your skin. It will help to remove the dead skin, and in turn, nourish the skin.

Here’s how to use it for crack-free heels on Karwa Chauth

Step 1: Take a fresh lemon and grate the outer skin with a grater.

Step 2: Boil three litres of water in a pan along with grated zest, and once it comes to a boil, switch off the gas.

Step 3: Wait for it to come to a lukewarm temperature.

Step 4: Now, add one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar into water
and soak your feet in it for at least 15-20 minutes.

5. Mustard oil and besan scrub

Is your skin dry, and no amount of moisturising cream works? This body scrub made of mustard oil and besan flour is what you need. It exfoliates, and also relaxes the skin – both of which can work wonders to give you that glow you want for Karwa Chauth.

You need 4 tsp gram flour, 1/2 tsp turmeric, 1/2 lemon, 1 tsp yoghurt and 2 tsp mustard oil.

Here’s how you can make the body scrub and use it

Step 1: Warm the mustard oil for 2 to 3 minutes. Now, mix turmeric and gram flour in it and stir.

Step 2: Squeeze the lemon into the oil mixture and add yoghurt. Mix the ingredients well to form a paste.

Step 3: Apply the paste gently all over the body and massage for 5 to 10 minutes.

Step 4: Let the scrub dry for another 15 minutes and then take a bath with lukewarm water.

A word of caution, here. A patch test is advisable before using mustard oil on the skin as it does not suit all skin types. In case your skin is sensitive or hypoallergenic, then it’s best not to use mustard oil, and try the other suggestions!
