There’s nothing better than relying on ghar ke nuskhe for providing us with countless benefits for our skin, hair and health. If there’s one remedy that has been a constant, it is skin icing. Using ice on your face is a solution for many skin problems. The best part is it can tackle several skin woes, especially that erupt during the summer season.

Basically, skin icing is a cryotherapy treatment that is usually used in spas, but why waste money and time when you can enjoy all the benefits right at home? It is a process in which your skin is exposed to cool temperatures, which solves several skin complications and gives you an instant refreshed face.

Doing skin icing the right way is important to enjoy its benefits. Here’s how you should use ice on your face:

Step 1: First clean your face properly to get rid of impurities, dirt, and oil.

Step 2: Wrap three to four pieces of ice in a soft cloth. When the ice cubes start melting, you can use it to massage your face.

Step 3: Start massaging the ice on different parts of your face. Keep in mind that you do the massage in a circular motion. Now, use a moisturizer on your face.

Remember not to exceed the time limit of 15 minutes and make sure you cover all areas of your face. You can do this twice a week if you have dry skin because rubbing ice every day can cause irritation.

To get more out of skin icing, you can increase its effectiveness by adding other natural ingredients.

  • Aloe-vera ice cubes

You need to extract the gel from the aloe vera leaf, grind it and mix it with water to freeze it. Aloe-vera contains antioxidants, enzymes, and vitamins that can treat many skin problems.

  • Green tea ice cubes

Make strong green tea, and pour it into an ice cube tray and freeze it. Green tea has both antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that will enhance your skin health.

  • Turmeric ice cubes

Mix turmeric with water and freeze it into an ice cube tray. Turmeric ice cubes have antibacterial properties that fight against acne, pimples, and breakouts.

  • Cucumber ice cubes

Grind cucumber and mix lemon juice to it. Now, freeze the ice cubes and massage your face. Cucumbers are packed with vitamin C and antioxidant properties, which will resolve sun damage problems.

  • Coffee ice cubes

Use coffee with water to make its ice cubes. Coffee will help to decrease redness and fine lines.

Here are some tips to keep in mind, while massaging your face with ice cubes:

  • Avoid rubbing ice around your eye area or be careful while applying, especially if your ice cubes contain other ingredients.

  • Balance is key, so don’t repeat the process of skin icing too many times in a day.
  • Ensure your face is clean before skin icing. Remove all the make-up.
  • Massage with ice cubes in circulation motion or gently.
  • Do not rub a particular area too much.
  • You can do it in the morning or evening. Avoid massaging over 10-15 minutes a day.
  • Focus on each part of your face like the jawline, chin, cheeks, forehead, nose, etc.
  • You can use more time to massage areas where there is acne and pimples.
  • If your skin gets irritated by the process, you should stop doing that.
  • Try using ice cubes with a soft cloth, if you have an acne problem.
  • If your skin is already damaged, then do not use ice on your face. Let it heal first.
  • Avoid using ice cubes straight from the freezer, let them melt a bit.
  • Always use a moisturizer after skin icing.
The last word

The cold therapy will provide effective results, including glowing and radiant skin, reduced redness and rashes, improved blood circulation, and less sunburn. It will also reduce oil and improve absorption of other products. So, try skin icing as it is a simple and chemical-free solution for your skincare routine.
