You know those dimples and lumps that start forming on the skin and make it look wrinkled and saggy? Yep, that’s stubborn fat–aka cellulite–ruining your beauty A-game.

It usually attacks your thighs, hips, arms, and lower abdomen and can make the skin look like an orange–and quite literally so, because the resulting unevenness of the skin almost resembles the texture of an orange peel.

“The main reason behind this problem is the interaction between the fat cells and the connective tissues, which are arranged vertically in a woman’s body,” explains Dr. Nirupama Parwanda, dermatologist and founder, Zolie Skin Clinic, Greater Kailash, Delhi. “When the fat layer slips into the tissue layer, it tends to protrude out and results in the appearance of cellulite.”

“Hormonal imbalance, genetic issues, poor lifestyle, ageing, and poor blood circulation can also be blamed for cellulite,” she adds.

But don’t lose heart just yet ladies, because here are three super-effective home remedies recommended by Dr Parwanda that will help you get rid of cellulite naturally:

1. A DIY coffee scrub can rescue you from cellulite
Cellulite and loose skin go hand in hand, thus using something that has a tightening effect on the skin is a must. A coffee scrub, for instance, will not only help you tighten your skin, but also improve blood circulation.

All you’ve got to do is combine 6 tablespoons of coffee powder, 3 tablespoons of brown sugar, and 1 tablespoon of coconut oil in a bowl to form a thick paste. Scrub the affected areas using this mixture at least twice a week and you’ll see a difference.

2. Oil massages can help too
Massages are often linked to relaxation. However, getting an oil massage from a professional or doing it yourself twice a week on problematic areas can promote the circulation of the lymphatic fluid in the body. Since our lymphatic system is responsible for ridding the body of toxins and waste materials, anything that gives it a boost can also give you a smoother-looking skin.

Also, watch:

Juniper oil can help you in this endeavour as it has detoxifying properties. Simply mix 20 to 25 drops of juniper oil with a quarter of olive oil and massage it into your skin. Do this twice a week to see the difference.

3. Trust apple cider vinegar to get the job done
Apple cider vinegar contains potassium, magnesium, and calcium, which can help you flush out toxins from your body. You can either consume it orally–by diluting apple cider vinegar with water. Or mix one part apple cider vinegar with two parts of water and 2 tablespoons of honey and massage it on the affected area for 20-30 minutes twice a week.
