You can do this the very next day. “The hot compression will lighten the hickey to a great extent but you will have to treat it with cold compression to complete the process. The cold compression will constrict the blood vessels and help in healing the hickey”, she suggests.

Many of friends, including Google, will tell you to massage the area. But, according to Dr. Roshni, this can lead to more rupturing since the area is still vulnerable.
“Massaging the bruise mark will cause it to become bigger and darker since it can rupture more vessels”, she concluded.
