Fine lines could happen for a variety of reasons, ranging from ageing, stress, genetics to lifestyle choices such as smoking or drinking. The thing is that no matter what, you will notice fine lines on your skin at some point in your life. They’re most visible on the forehead, and around the eyes and lips. Truth be told, they’re not a cause of concern at all and a very normal part of ageing.

You cannot, however, deny that the appearance of fine lines can lower self-confidence. And hence, we’re constantly trying to find ways to reduce their appearance. We say you go slow on the products full of chemicals and give natural ingredients a try to reduce the appearance of fine lines.

What should a natural face pack for ageing skin contain?

An effective way to deal with fine lines is actually available right in your kitchen—eggs and lemon. Applying eggs on the face might seem gross to many but for the face mask, we discard the egg yolk and work only with the white part which doesn’t smell as bad! Egg whites are extremely rich in protein which benefits the skin by tightening it, improving the process of skin repair, eliminating excess oil and reducing acne.

Now, if you’re still worried about the raw egg smell issue, the second ingredient will put your fears at rest. Not only will lemon improve the smell of this face pack, but it also comes with its own set of benefits which include delaying signs of ageing, such as fine lines, due to the antioxidant properties, making the skin glow due to its vitamin C component, and getting rid of the extra oil on your skin.

We recommend using honey as a third ingredient because not only will it help you set the consistency of the face mask but it also works as a natural humectant, locking in the moisture. What’s more, you can always add a drop or two of lavender or jasmine essential oil to combat the smell, if you have particularly sensitive olfactory senses.

Here is how you can make this homemade face pack with lemon and egg
Ingredients:
  1. Egg white (whisked)
  2. Lemon (1/2 teaspoon)
  3. Honey (1/2 teaspoon)
Here’s how to prepare as well as use the egg and lemon face pack:

Step 1: Add the lemon to the egg white and whisk the two ingredients together. It might take some time before the egg whites and lemon get combined.

Step 2: Now, add honey to this mix and continue with the whisking process.

Step 3: Apply this mix on your face and let it dry before washing it off with warm water. Ideally, it will take 10 to 15 minutes to dry.

Use this mask once a week or once every fortnight. You’ll be able to nourish your skin with the goodness of eggs and lemon only if you’re using this face mask regularly. In addition, it will not only reduce the appearance of fine lines but also delay signs of ageing. Sounds like a great deal, doesn’t it?
