Large pores are a very common skin problem. Unfortunately, they attract other skin issues too—like acne and blackheads, more so in people with an oily skin. Now if you’re wondering what causes enlarged pores, then friends let us tell you that excess sebum, dirt, and bacteria accumulated in the skin are the main culprits here.
Though there are quite a few products in the market that will help you deal with this problem, retorting to home remedies can ensure that your skin is not getting exposed to harsh chemicals, which can make your enlarged pores seem larger.
So, here are a few home remedies that you can try, in order to shrink your large pores:
1. Ice cubes
Applying ice cubes on the skin is one of the most effective ways to get rid of large pores. Ice has a tightening effect on the skin and that’s what helps shrink the large pores. The remedy is very simple and it’s a great hack to apply ice on your face before applying makeup. It also boosts your skin health by increasing the blood circulation in your face.
All you have to do is put some ice cubes in a washcloth and apply it to your skin for a few seconds. If not ice, you can also just wash your face with ice cold water.
2. Apple cider vinegar
Apple cider vinegar is nature’s skin toner for you. Known for its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, it helps treat acne breakouts. More importantly, it restores the pH balance of the skin and tightens the skin by reducing the large pores.
Now, here’s how you can go about using it: Mix a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar with two teaspoons of water. Soak a cotton ball in the mix and apply it on your face. Leave it on for five to ten minutes before you rinse it off and then moisturize your skin as usual.
3. Egg whites
Egg whites will help you tone and tighten your skin, which in turn will shrink those large pores. Making a peel-off mask with egg whites is super easy. Not to mention, it’s an excellent remedy for getting rid of excessive oil.
To make this mask, separate the egg white from the yolk and whisk it well. Spread it across your face evenly. Now, quickly cover your face with pieces of tissue, letting the egg whites act like glue. Let it dry completely and then peel the tissue paper off. Alternatively, you can also rinse your face with water. Do this twice a week.
