While we are enjoying the monsoon season, the strands in our hair brush are making us scream! It’s so heart-wrenching to see your beautiful hair fall during monsoon, isn’t it? What should we do then to stop the hair from falling? If you have been frantically looking for solutions and no solution seems to be working for you, you’re not alone. The humidity outdoors is making the hair follicles weak and thin. Just before this gets you more worried, let me quickly jump to some home remedies for hair fall during monsoon.

All the ingredients are simple and are sitting in your kitchen. You just have to make the right mix and your hair will just be perfect and healthy!

Home remedies for hair fall in monsoon:

1. Onion juice

I know this one stinks a lot, but just the effect it will have on your hair fall is phenomenal. The sulfur in onions provides thickness to the hair making it just the perfect solution. You can take a juice of 1 onion depending upon the length of your hair and apply it mostly to the roots. Keep it on for 20 minutes and rinse it with a strong fragrance shampoo to overshadow the onion’s smell. Repeat this twice a week and see the magic. Here are 3 ways how to use onion for hair.

2. Ginger

Ginger has vitamins, minerals, and fatty acids which promote hair stimulation. That further leads to hair growth. Ginger also has gingerol in it which improves blood circulation. Simply apply the juice of fresh ginger and keep it on for 20-30 minutes. Wash it off with a mild shampoo.

3. Oil massage

There is nothing that a good oil massage can’t fix. Even hair fall! In a bowl, mix 1 teaspoon of castor oil, 1 tbsp almond oil, and 1 tbsp coconut oil. Now warm this a little and apply it thoroughly to your roots and tresses. You have to give yourself a good 15 -20 minutes massage with this. This will increase the blood circulation and make your hair follicles strong, and the warm oil will easily seep into your scalp making you feel relaxed as well. Try to repeat this once every fortnight to get desired results.

4. Coconut milk

While eating coconut is good for your skin and eyes, giving a coconut milk spa to your hair can make your relationship with your hair healthy again. Massage about a cup of coconut milk into your hair (quantity depends on your hair length). Now wrap a towel around your head and let it stay for 15-20 minutes. Rinse it after and follow this at least once a week as a home cure for hair fall.

5. Egg mask

Egg is one of my favourite ingredients to include in skin and hair care. Mix 1 egg with honey and olive oil. Use a brush to apply this smooth hair mask to your scalp and hair. Keep it on for 20 minutes and rinse it off. Don’t worry the smell of egg will wear off after the second wash. Check out these egg hair masks!

6. Green tea

If you are worried about persistent hair fall, turn to this one to give a nice cleanse to your scalp. Many a times our scalps are clogged with dirt, which leads to hair fall. Green tea will wash out all the dirt particles in turn reducing hair fall. Soak 1-2 green tea bags in hot water, and let it sit there for 5 minutes. Now allow the green tea water to cool, pour the same water on your scalp, and gently massage it into your scalp. You can rinse this with plain water as well.

7. Aloe vera

The antiseptic properties of aloe vera make it the perfect ingredient for all hair care routines. Scrape aloe vera gel out of a leaf or use at least 2 tbsp aloe vera gel and massage it gently into your roots and tresses. Rinse it off after half an hour. Apple aloe vera 2 or 3 times a week.
