Considering how the decade gone by literally went by in a jiffy, we won’t blame you if you want everything on the fast track in the new decade as well—including the positive results of your skincare routine.

After all, practicing skincare rituals and waiting for months and years to finally see some results can wear off your patience.

But don’t lose patience just yet. These seven home remedies recommended by Dr. Priyanka Reddy, dermatologist, technologist, and founder, DNA Skin Clinic, Bangalore will show their magic on your skin instead of testing your patience:

1. Sugar-oatmeal scrub
Exfoliate your skin using a mixture of sugar, oatmeal, and coconut oil twice or thrice a week. This can give a visibly-brighter skin almost instantly as this scrub can remove dead skin cells and help your skin breathe better.

2. Coffee scrub
Mix a tablespoon of coconut oil with a teaspoon of coffee powder and massage it on your skin. While the coconut oil will nourish your skin, the coffee powder will help in removing dead skin.

3. Besan pack
Mix chickpea powder (besan), curd, and turmeric and rub it on your skin twice or thrice a week. Your mom too will support this as it is one of the best home remedies for skin.

4. Papaya mask
Papaya contains the enzyme papain, which helps brighten the skin tone and leave a more clear complexion behind. All you need to do is take some papaya slices, mash them together, and apply the paste on your face.

Just wash it off after 20-25 minutes, and get set to witness a bright, glowing face. It works even better when you use it for seven days in a row—you will be able to see a discernible difference.

You can add lemon juice to this mask. Lemon possesses cleansing properties. Hence, adding it to the papaya pulp can leave your skin looking fresher and cleaner.

However, it’s important to remember that lemon juice is extremely acidic, so make sure you keep it on for a very short time. Also, keep in mind, that lemon juice is more suitable for those with oily or normal skin types—and not for people with dry skin.

5. Tomato juice
Tomato juice acts as an astringent and helps brighten dull skin and can give you a subtle glow too.

6. Multani mitti pack
Multani mitti or fuller’s earth is a great home remedy to instantly brighten the skin and remove excess oil. It also boosts blood circulation and improves the health of the skin, giving it a natural glow.

You can also use pure rosewater instead of regular water to prepare the face pack. Apply it on your face and wash it off once it dries up.

7. Kesar and milk
If you’re looking to get a soft, even complexion along with a rosy glow, the saffron-milk combination can work wonders for you. Just add a couple of pure kesar strands into some milk so that the milk turns red and massage this mixture on your skin every day for the next seven days for a bright, glowing face.

So, make use of these home remedies and get a healthy and glowing skin.
