Try these 6 home remedies to get rid of those pesky acne scars naturally
Almost each and every one of us has suffered from acne at some point in our lives. But managing that acne isn’t the hard part. Getting rid of the scars and pits left behind by those zits–now that’s a toughie.
In fact, acne pits are the most difficult to remove because they are a result of destruction of the skin tissue. So, your skin uneven and loses its smooth texture.
Thankfully, there are a few treatments that help with the scarring. From laser therapy and microdermabrasion to chemical peeling–there are many clinical treatments that come to your rescue.
But if expensive in-clinic treatments are not what you are looking for then here are a few home remedies to fade acne scars.

Note: Try these home remedies only after all active acne has subsided and only marks are left behind
Here are some products that you can try:
1. Use a rice powder scrub to fade marks
Mix rice powder with curd and a pinch of turmeric. Apply this concoction on your face and rub gently in small circular movements, especially on the areas with acne marks. Leave it on for five minutes and then wash off with plain water.
Note: Use this scrub only when there are no pimples or rashes on your skin
2. This oats and egg face masque can help
Good to use upto twice a week, to make this masque combine 3 teaspoons of oats with 1 egg white and 1 teaspoon each of curd and honey. Apply it on your face, avoiding the lips and the area around your eyes. Wash it off after half an hour.
Tip: If you have oily skin, you can also add powdered lemon or orange peel to this masque. Additionally, if squeaky clean skin is what you desire in the process, add ground almonds for extra exfoliation.
3. Bring lemon juice into service to lighten marks
Mix a few drops of honey with lemon juice and apply it only on the scars with a cotton bud. Leave it on for 10 minutes and wash off with plain water. If you’re not a big fan of honey, you can substitute it with pure aloe vera gel.
Note: Since lemon juice has a peeling action on the skin, avoid sun exposure after using this concoction.
4. Apply aloe vera gel on your skin daily
Aloe vera minimizes scars and also improves skin texture. You can use the gel directly from the plant or buy an over the counter gel.
5. Use a papaya masque to get the most out of fruit acids
Mix ripe papaya pulp with grated cucumber, tomato and orange pulp. Apply this masque on your skin daily and wash off after half an hour. This combination will not only brighten the skin but removes dead epithelial cells.
6. Try this nourishing curd concoction
To 2 teaspoons of curd, add a pinch of turmeric (haldi). Apply this daily on your face–washing it off after 15 minutes. This not only softens the skin, but also helps acne and marks.
