Beauty professionals and bloggers often incorporate fenugreek or methi seeds in their beauty routine because of the immense benefits they have on skin and hair. They clean and nourish the skin and make the hair shinier.

They are a rich source of fibre, fat, iron, manganese, copper, magnesium, phosphorus, and vitamin B6. The vitamin C in them helps enhance complexion and fight premature aging.

They’re also used in traditional medicine to aid digestion, boost metabolism, and help maintain healthy blood sugar levels. Here are some of the ways you can use this wonder seed and solve your skin and hair trouble.

1. Removes dandruff
Fenugreek is rich with minerals and vitamins and is an excellent remedy for treating stubborn problems of dandruff which is caused by the dry and flaky scalp. The seeds of fenugreek are known for moisturizing and have anti-fungal properties. Soak fenugreek seeds in water overnight. Drain the water and mash the seeds into a paste. Apply on the scalp and allow the paste to remain there for about an hour. Rinse it off with a mild shampoo

2. Prevents hair loss
Proteins and nicotinic acid help in the prevention of hair loss and fenugreek is a rich source of these. Soak fenugreek seeds in warm coconut oil overnight and let the juice of the seeds secrete into it. Apply this to strengthen hair follicles and prevent hair fall, scalp itching, rashes, and dandruff.

3. Prevent acne and dark circles
Soak fenugreek seeds in water overnight. Rinse and make a paste. Apply the mask on your face for 15 minutes. The Diosgenin in fenugreek has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that treat acne and also moisturise your skin.

4. Help skin glow
Apply a face pack made with fenugreek powder and raw milk or curd. Regular use of the pack will lighten fine lines and even out the complexion.

5. Used as a scrub
You can make a natural scrub using fenugreek seeds. Mix with raw milk and oats and add a little rose water in the paste. Massage your face with light curricular motions and wash off with lukewarm water. Apply a mud-based pack after this.

6. Soothes skin and prevents skin damage
If your skin is sensitive fenugreek can offer miraculous benefits as this can soothe damage and skin irritation while diminishing redness. Polysaccharides in fenugreek form a gel that acts as a protective layer on the skin. Add aloe vera gel in strained water of fenugreek and apply it for half an hour.
