Who doesn’t love a dollop of pure ghee on hot khichdi? Its rich flavour can make every dish taste even better. Not to mention it’s great for your joint health and is teeming with good fats that our body needs. But did you know that applying ghee on your face can do wonders for your skin?
Those good fats we were just talking about, they can nourish and moisturize your skin, making it radiant. Ghee can also give you plump lips, soft elbows, heels and knees, and well-maintained cuticles. In fact, here are all the ways of you can use ghee for skin:
1. As a lip balm
All you need to do is warm a spoonful of ghee and apply it on
your dry lips. If you don’t want to go through the trouble of heating it, you can always warm up a little ghee between your fingers before slathering it on for beautiful, luscious lips.
2. As a make-up remover
Ghee doesn’t just help to remove eye make-up gently but also works as an
effective eye cream. Add some vitamin E oil to a spoonful of ghee, mix it well, and apply to the eyelids. Gently massage the mixture, wiping it off with a wet cootn pad.
3. As a remedy for cracked heels
Ghee can give you silky heels if you rub a little on your feet before going
to bed. Remember to slip on a pair of socks, so as to avoid dirtying your sheets.
4. As a body cream
Ghee acts as a moisturiser for your hands and cuticles and is a natural way of hydrating your limbs. You can massage some on your skin before going for a bath and then wash it off a gentle soap. It is great for dry and sensitives skin types.
5. For soft elbows and knees
You can use ghee on your knees and elbows since they get drier
than any other parts of the body. You can even mix ghee with some tea tree and calendula extracts and apply them on your feet to keep them from csracking.
