Cellulite is a common skin condition usually caused by a build-up of fat underneath your skin. It’s the fat which makes the skin look dimpled. But it’s not just overweight women who can have cellulite—thin women suffer from this problem too. 

But cellulite shouldn’t be a reason for you to NOT love your body. Because certain home remedies can help you get rid of cellulite more efficiently than most products available in the market.

Here are 5 home-made scrubs that can reduce the appearance of cellulite:

 

1. Coffee and olive oil scrub

 

The caffeine in coffee helps to dilate blood vessels, thereby improving blood circulation. This along with the antioxidants in coffee helps to mitigate the cellulite effectively.

Here’s how to make this scrub: Mix ¼ cup coffee with 2 tbsp olive oil and 3 tbsp hot water. Let this sit for 10 minutes, allowing the coffee to absorb water. Apply the scrub on the areas with cellulite and massage for five to 10 minutes in circulation motion. Rinse off with warm water.

 

2. Coconut oil and sugar scrub

 

We all know that coconut oil is great for hair, but it can also be very helpful for the skin as well. In fact, it can help you get rid of cellulite. While on one hand, sugar will exfoliate your skin, on the other coconut oil will moisturize your skin. So this is a great combo. 

Here’s how to make this scrub: Mix 6 tbsp coconut oil with 3 tbsp of sugar. Massage this into your skin in circular motions for at least five minutes. Wash it  off with warm water.

 

3. Brown sugar and sea salt scrub

 

When applied topically, brown sugar can fight acne, stretch marks, and even cellulite. This body scrub which uses brown sugar helps in moisturizing and brightening the skin. Coarse sea salt, which contains sodium chloride and trace minerals, helpful in reducing the puckered appearance on the skin.

Here’s how to make this scrub: In a bowl, combine ½ cup of brown sugar and add ½ cup of sea salt with 2 tbsp sesame oil. Mix it well. Apply scrub on your body and use a loofah to massage it in circular motions. Leave it on for five to 10 minutes and wash it with warm water.

4. Aloe vera and grapefruit oil scrub

 

Be it your hair or skin, aloe vera has tons of benefits of offer. It is considered to be anti-cellulite because it makes the skin tight and reduces inflammation. You can use it with grapefruit oil, which contains proteolytic and anti-inflammatory enzymes that prevent fat cell formation. 

Here’s how to make this scrub: Extract the gel from one aloe vera leaf and add  it to 2 tbsp of grapefruit oil. Mix the concoction well. Massage the scrub on the affected area. Rinse off after 10 minutes.

 

5. Wheat bran and baking soda scrub

 

Baking soda might seem like an odd thing to add to a scrub, but the truth is that this ingredient can boost blood circulation and thus reduce the appearance of cellulite. Wheat bran or the outer coat of wheat grain is rich in antioxidants and contains selenium and vitamins E and B. This gives it the power to prevent signs of ageing. 

Here’s how to make this scrub: Combine 2 tbsp of wheat bran with 1 tbsp of baking soda. Add 1 tbsp of honey and some water to make a smooth paste. Mix well and massage the scrub into the skin for 15 minutes. Rinse off with warm water.
