The hibiscus flower is not only stunning to look at, but when used on the skin, it can give you a bright and radiant complexion. This tropical plant is one of the most effective ingredients for maintaining healthy skin. All thanks to its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-aging properties. Clearly, it contains nearly all of the ingredients required to keep your skin happy and glowing. Guess what we’ve come up with today? So, here are the three best hibiscus face mask recipes.
Health Shots spoke to Dr Navnit Haror, Founder and Director of Derma Miracle Clinic, to find out the best ways to apply hibiscus to the face in order to reap all the benefits.
A face mask is an essential component of any skincare regimen. They can aid in the detoxification of the skin, the replenishment of moisture, and the improvement of the appearance of pores. However, not all face masks are created equal. That’s why Dr Haror suggests looking for a face mask that incorporates hibiscus for the best effects. He says, “Hibiscus is a natural antioxidant that can aid in the fight against free radicals, which can cause skin damage. Furthermore, it can aid in the firming of connective tissues, which can prevent sagging skin. It can also help to keep the skin moisturized, preventing dryness and fine lines.”
A hibiscus face mask, when used on a daily basis, can assist in keeping your skin looking young and radiant.
While many face packs are designed for specific skin types, this hibiscus and rose face pack is excellent for all skin types, especially oily skin. Dr Haror says, “The Multani mitti present in the face pack absorbs excess oil from your skin, keeping your surface moisturized.” He adds, “The combination of hibiscus and rose petals protects your skin from sun damage and reverses skin damage.” As a result, the face pack is great for people trying to achieve a youthful appearance. This face pack will keep your skin soft, smooth, and healthy if you use it on a daily basis.
Here’s how to use it
Ingredients: Hibiscus petals, Multani mitti (2 tablespoons), curd (2 tablespoons), rose petals (4-5 petals).
Method: Wash all petals, place all ingredients in a blender, add little water, form smooth paste and apply it on your clean wiped face for 10-15 minutes. After that, wash your face with fresh water. Apply this face mask once a week to see effective results.
Our skin begins to exhibit symptoms of wear and tear as we get older. Fine wrinkles emerge, and the skin’s elasticity begins to deteriorate. Milk is a natural source of proteins, minerals, and vitamins that can help to keep skin firm and prevent premature ageing. It also contains lactic acid, which promotes collagen formation and improves your skin’s natural suppleness. “The combination of milk, honey, and hibiscus can moisturize your skin and protect it from oxidative damage,” says Dr Haror.
Here’s how to use it
Ingredients: Hibiscus powder (2 tablespoons), raw honey (1 tablespoon), milk (1 tablespoon).

Hibiscus contains antibacterial properties that aid in the elimination of acne-causing germs. In addition, it also contains probiotics, which help to restore healthy and clear skin. Yoghurt also contains zinc, which helps to prevent future breakouts by shrinking and unclogging blocked pores. According to Dr Haror, “This face pack is ideal for those who want to get rid of acne and related scars in a natural and efficient method.”
Here’s how to use it
Ingredients: Hibiscus powder (2 tablespoons), fresh unflavoured yoghurt.
Method: Mix all the ingredients thoroughly in one bowl and make a smooth paste. Now, apply it to your face and neck. Keep it for 15 minutes. Once it is dry, take steam and gently remove this mask with the help of a cotton swab. After that, rinse it properly with water. There is no need to use a face wash.
Hibiscus contains phenolic compounds that, by scavenging free radicals, protect the skin from environmental damage. Furthermore, alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) in hibiscus exfoliate the skin, making it an excellent choice for a face pack. In addition, it improves skin texture and reduces blackheads and hyperpigmentation. So what are you waiting for? Try any of these hibiscus face masks and watch your skin glow!
