It may not seem like it but our hair requires a lot of care. It goes through a lot due to exposure to direct sunlight and pollutants. What’s more, our fast-paced life leads to stress which can often lead to hair fall. The changing seasons can also affect it by causing dandruff and irritation. Many times, we end up neglecting it and our tresses become dull.
Other times, we obsess over it so much that we go for heat styling and chemical treatments like colouring, causing our hair to become dry and brittle. Clearly, all these factors mean that our hair needs that extra bit of attention to remain strong and keep growing!
One simple way to ensure our hair gets added nourishment is to use a hair rinse at the end of washing the hair. What’s more, you can prepare a natural hair rinse right at home! A hair rinse is somewhere between a conditioner and hair serum but minus the chemicals. It can provide your scalp and tresses with the right nutrients while conditioning the hair.
If you struggle with hair fall, especially caused by dandruff and want strong hair, then the methi (fenugreek) seeds and eucalyptus oil hair rinse is perfect for you!
Methi (fenugreek) seeds, 3 teaspoons
Eucalyptus oil, 10 drops
Water, 250 ml
Step 1: Soak the methi (fenugreek) seeds in 250 ml of water overnight.
Step 2: Boil this water on low flame for 5 to 7 minutes to make it slightly warm.
Step 3: Add 10 drops of eucalyptus oil to this water. Keep in mind that you should not go overboard with this quantity. All essential oils, including eucalyptus, need to be diluted. Applying them directly on your scalp can cause severe damage and irritation.
Fenugreek seeds are already quite famous for their ability to stop hair loss and contribute to healthy hair growth. Rich in proteins and antioxidants, fenugreek seeds don’t just make your hair strong, reducing hair fall and brittleness but also heal damage. On the other hand, eucalyptus oil has potent anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties. In fact, a study published in the Asia Pacific Journal of Tropical Disease established that it can be used to keep dandruff at bay. What’s more, eucalyptus oil is believed to enhance blood circulation in the scalp which can be a contributing factor in stopping hair fall and strengthening hair follicles.
