Even if you may have washed your hair, exposure to dust and pollution can leave them dry and lifeless on the same day. And so, some people are used to washing their hair every single day, thinking it is better for their hair’s health. While shampooing and washing your hair is the most important step in maintaining good scalp hygiene, doing it too often can backfire.
It may seem that this helps your hair to stay clean and healthy, but sorry ladies, you may actually be doing more harm to your tresses than good.

If you have already dry hair, you do not need to wash hair daily or even every other day. Doing so instead can make your hair dry, frizzy, and more prone to damage. Additionally, it can even form knots in your hair, making it difficult to untangle and can cause hair fall when you comb your hair later.
Washing hair tends to help the scalp remain healthy, preventing itching and flaking, but doing so frequently can cause lack of moisture to the scalp because it can strip away the natural sebum, leaving it dry!
Dandruff happens when the scalp is dry and starts to flake. Shampooing can relieve dandruff, but not over-washing your hair. In fact, severe dandruff can also weaken or cause your hair to thin.
Since washing your hair too often can dry your hair out, it can leave it more susceptible to breakage. If there are short pieces of hair coming out when you brush or comb your hair, you are experiencing hair breakage.
Has your mother ever asked you not to comb wet hair? Well, because wet hair is more prone to damage and breakage, so the more you wash them, the more chances your hair has to break or damage.
Is this what you want with your hair? Absolutely not! So stop washing your hair every single day for the sake of your hair health.
There is no definite answer to this. It depends on personal preference, daily habits, hair texture, and scalp health. But if you have an oily scalp, you can wash your hair on every alternate day.
