The rainy season is here and while we rejoice about the pleasant weather, one needs to acknowledge how harsh the season can be for our hair. In spite of using the best shampoo or oiling your hair regularly, the monsoon can end up causing various hair troubles. This is because the season is characterised by a high-humidity level which causes the hair cuticles to become dry and hence, you experience frizziness.
Now, we all know how much we dread frizzy hair during the monsoon season! At times, it seems like it is impossible to avoid the frizz but the trick is to keep your hair well-moisturised. You have to include certain ingredients in your hair care routine to nourish your tresses and keep them hydrated. Two ingredients that can do this job for you are banana and flaxseed.
Make a hair mask using banana and flaxseed to deeply moisturise your hair this monsoon and keep the frizz at bay. Banana contains natural oils and flaxseed contains vitamin E, ensuring that your dry hair gets the hydrating nourishment it needs.
2 tbsp flaxseed
1 banana
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp almond/olive/lavender oil
Step 1: Grind the flax seeds into fine powder and add chopped banana slices to it.
Step 2: Blend the powdered flax seeds and banana, till a thick paste is formed.
Step 3: In a bowl, mix the paste and add the honey, and almond/olive/lavender oil to it. Mix the ingredients well to make the hair mask.
Step 4: Part your hair in sections and apply the hair mask on your scalp, and the entirety of your hair. Do not forget to cover the full length and ends of the hair.
Step 5: Leave the hair mask on for at least 2 hours and then wash it off using lukewarm water and shampoo.
Alternatively, you can also make a flax seeds mixture by pouring 1-2 cups of water and 1/4 cup of flax seeds into a pot. Boil the seeds, while constantly stirring them until you see a white froth on the surface. Now, strain the mixture using a strainer or a cheesecloth. Mix mashed banana, strained flax seeds and almond/olive/lavender oil together to make your hair mask.
Use this hair mask at least once a week to see optimal results!
