Long and luscious hair is the dream of many women, and it’s really not too much to ask for! But with the increasing pollution, dirt and dust, your hair loses its lustre, and eventually starts getting damaged and brittle. Scary, isn’t it? But, as always, we’ve got a solution to your biggest problems, and this time around, we have a perfect remedy for hair loss: green tea!

Yes ladies, your favourite brew is a ‘miracle cure’ for hair loss! Not only is green tea easily available, but it is also chemical-free with negligible or no side effects. We’ve seen its benefits earlier for weight loss, gastrointestinal problems, and tackling skin disorders, so it’s no surprise that this beverage is great for hair care too!

So, without further ado, let’s find out why green tea works well for hair loss.

1. It is anti-inflammatory in nature
We already know that dandruff causes an itchy slap, and severe hair loss. Green tea contains anti-inflammatory properties that can help your hair grow back! It also makes your scalp clean, and free from all infections.

2. Removes bacteria and fungus parasite
We know it sounds gross, but your scalp is the perfect breeding ground for bacterial or fungus parasites! These unwanted inhabitants weaken your hair roots, and that often leads to hair fall. Wash your hair with green tea to fight, and keep these parasites out of reach!

3. It has natural catechins
Green tea contains an abundance of catechins, which are antioxidants in nature. These compounds help in reducing dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which is responsible for hair loss.

4. Rich in polyphenols
Green tea is rich in a certain kind of polyphenol called epigallocatechin gallate or EGCG. Thanks to the high levels of EGCG in green tea, it works well for hair growth. Moreover, it also strengthens your hair roots and activates hair follicles — that’s great news, isn’t it?

5. Contains vitamin B
Green tea is a powerhouse of nutrients, including vitamin B. Not many know that vitamin B plays a major role in controlling hair fall. What’s more, it is also helpful in getting rid of split ends!

Now that you know how great green tea is for hair loss, let’s look at how you can use it to reap benefits.
